Setting the Standard in Education

About

I know, I know. There are lots of education blogs. Why should you visit mine? I’ll tell you:

  • LA Focus: Every week I will include issues relevant to Los Angeles. After working in research this past year, I’ve discovered the dearth of studies on LA. There just isn’t anything out there. For one of the largest school districts in the country, there is a surprising lack of information to be found.
  • Federal Focus: Let’s just come right out and say it. I’m a federalist, especially when it comes to education. I think that all students deserve equal chances and that having states and smaller entities decide what is good for children is preposterous. Education needs to be unified (this does not mean uniform) and the best way to do this is at the highest level.
  • Links, links, links: No, I don’t mean golf. All of my posts will be based on a smattering of information from all across the interweb and other sources of information. Any time I get information from somewhere, there will be a link. Any time there is something interesting or relevant, I’ll let you know where to find it.
  1. Ari,

This is great. I’ve enjoyed reading your blog so far. I sit and chuckle, as I imagine you do, at the ridiculousness of the state of public education today. Keep it coming!

    Best,
    Casey
